Product Details
BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound) is a stable gastric pentadecapeptide — a 15-amino-acid sequence derived from a protein found in gastric juice — and one of the most widely researched compounds in tissue-repair science. It is studied across tendon, ligament, gut, and soft-tissue research models.
How it’s studied
The recurring theme across the BPC-157 literature is cytoprotection: a broad protective effect linked to angiogenesis (new blood-vessel formation) and growth-factor signaling rather than a single receptor target. This multi-pathway, system-protective profile is what distinguishes it from receptor-specific peptides and drives its wide use as a reference compound in recovery research.
Research context
BPC-157 is investigational and not FDA-approved. This research-grade material is supplied for in-vitro and laboratory study only. For full mechanism and literature, see our [BPC-157 Research Overview »].
Regulatory note (2026)
BPC-157 was among the peptides removed from the FDA’s Category 2 restricted list in 2026 (effective April 23, 2026), and it is one of the compounds reviewed by the FDA’s Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee on July 23, 2026 for section 503A eligibility. Both are compounding-pharmacy matters, distinct from FDA drug approval — BPC-157 is not FDA-approved, and VANTA’s material remains strictly research-use-only.
