About Neuro Research

This category covers short peptides studied in neurological and behavioural research models. Both compounds here originate from Russian pharmacological research programmes and have a literature base that is substantially Russian-language, which is worth knowing when reviewing sources — much of the primary work is less accessible than the citation counts in English-language reviews suggest.

Semax is a synthetic fragment related to ACTH(4-10), modified to resist enzymatic degradation. Selank is a synthetic analogue of the endogenous tetrapeptide tuftsin. Both have been studied in animal models and, in their country of origin, in clinical settings — though the regulatory basis and trial methodology there differ from FDA or EMA standards, and neither compound is approved in the United States or European Union.

That context matters for research design. A compound with an established regulatory history in one jurisdiction and none in another is not the same evidentiary position as one with multi-region approval, and the available literature should be read with the methodology of its origin in mind.

Both are supplied lyophilised, independently assayed, with a batch-specific certificate of analysis. Sequences containing tryptophan and other photosensitive residues benefit from dark storage — see our handling guide for the conditions that preserve integrity.

For laboratory research use only.
